Summary: | The interaction of intense few-cycle KrF driver pulses with a gas of neutral He atoms is numerically investigated. Calculations are performed by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation within a framework of the single-active electron model. It is demonstrated that a single attosecond pulse as well as a train of bursts of subfemtosecond duration can be produced by Fourier synthesis of selected succsesive harmonics. The results are compared to those obtained by the strong field approximation model. |
