Summary: | In this paper are described improvements of the level indicator fixed in a cryostat by using combination of Ta short coils and a Ta long solenoid wound together with insulated heater wire. The short coil indicates accurately whether liquid surface is above or below it even when liquid He is being transferred. Its response time is a few tenths of a second. The long solenoid indicates liquid level continuously and with much less response time, but its indication is always about 5 mm more than actual depth in static condition and 10∼20 mm more during liquid transfer. Total power consumption in the probe is less than 20 milliwatts. |
