Measurements of Relative Transition Oscillator Strengths of Rydberg States in Cesium Magneto-Optical Trap

The oscillator strengths of $6P_{3/2} \rightarrow nS/nD$ transitions are measured by fitting ultracold Cs Rydberg atom field-ionized spectra. The oscillator strength ratios $\eta (n) = f_{D_{5/2}}(n)/f_{D_{3/2}}(n)$ and $\rho (n) = f_{S_{1/2}}(n + 2)/f_{D_{3/2}}(n)$, which agree with the calculation...

Description
Summary:The oscillator strengths of $6P_{3/2} \rightarrow nS/nD$ transitions are measured by fitting ultracold Cs Rydberg atom field-ionized spectra. The oscillator strength ratios $\eta (n) = f_{D_{5/2}}(n)/f_{D_{3/2}}(n)$ and $\rho (n) = f_{S_{1/2}}(n + 2)/f_{D_{3/2}}(n)$, which agree with the calculations based on the wave functions obtained by Numerov's method, are determined. The obtained results indicate that the ratios are almost independent of the principal quantum number $n$.
