Summary: | The spontaneous decay dynamics of an excited emitter embedded in woodpile photonics crystals (PCs) are investigated by a plane-wave expansion method based on non-Markovian approximation. We find that the spontaneous decay properties are different when emitters are in different positions in high-refractive-index-ratio woodpile PCs and the emitter can be partially trapped in the steady state. Our analysis indicates that the formation of a bound state between the emitter and its structure environment results in this fractional population. Our results may be supplied as reference results for probing the local density or direction local density of states in future experiments. |
