Summary:In October 2004, Nagoya University has started an extension program on embedded software, called NEXCESS (Nagoya university EXtension Courses for Embedded Software Specialists). NEXCESS aims at education of engineers in industry, and is financially supported by the government. This paper describes the organization and course design of NEXCESS. Also, our experience of the first half year is reported.
