Description
Summary:This paper describes the structure and expounds the underlying motivations of the 'Testing System' which is presently being designed and experienced in testing the Honeywell GCOS Level 62 operating system. TS is a hierarchical system in which two main levels are individuated: tests and 'testing structures'. The former are automatic 'system exercisers' - either 'testing programs' and 'testing units' at JCL level; the latter are hierarchically organized 'catalogues', allowing the management of testing activities through the use of automatic tools.
