Description
Summary:Pt catalyzed tin dioxide/Ketjen black having various loading amounts of tin oxide nanoparticles, Pt/x-SnO 2 /KB (x = 0 - 66), were prepared and their ORR (oxygen reduction reaction) activity and durability were studied as the cathode of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). ORR activity of this catalysts is surely depended on the loading amounts of tin oxide and reaches the maximum at x=58 in this study. Durability of Pt was investigated by repeatedly potential pulse tests between 0.6-1.0 V. It is clarified that the durability considered by ECA is improved by tin dioxide loading. Thus, PEMFC catalyst by using SnO 2 /KB support is one of the active and durable cathode materials.
