Summary: | An improved and rapid one pot synthesis of 2,4,6‐triphenyl‐1 H ‐imidazoles on condensation with benzil, aromatic aldehyde and NH 4 OAc has been carried out using ZnO as an efficient and inexpensive catalyst in high yield at room temperature. The short reaction time, good yields (60‐93%), environmental friendly procedure, mild reaction condition and convenient operation are important advantage of these synthetic methods. |
