Background:

Methods:
Studies were conducted in a blinded fashion. Immunosuppressed swine (cyclosporine 200 mg/day, N=26) with hibernating myocardium from a chronic LAD stenosis were randomized to receive vehicle, ~35 x 10

icMSCs, or ~35 x 10

icCDCs. Cells were infused into the 3 major coronary arteries at ~10

cells/min under continuous flow conditions. LAD function and pathologic indices of myocyte regeneration and proliferation were assessed 1 month later.
