Summary:Aortoesophageal fistula is an uncommon and lethal clinical condition. We operated on 2 cases of aortoesophageal fistula between 1991 and 1996. The operations were uneventful. However, both patients died from fatal hemorrhage at 7 and 30 days postoperatively, respectively. The management of aortoesophageal fistula is still a challenging problem for cardiac surgeons.
