Description
Summary:The reliability of subtest composites corresponding to the abilities and influences included in Kaufman's (1979) system for interpreting Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised profiles was examined at 6½, 11½ and 16½ years of age. These composites were found to consistently demonstrate high reliability. Increasing reliability was generally related to the number of subtests in a composite and to the proportion of Verbal to Performance subtests in a composite. The reliability of certain composites also fluctuated as a result of age. The implications of these findings for the practitioner interpreting a Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised profile are discussed.
