Summary:The purpose of this article is to provide an overview, core strategies, and real-life examples of the universal tier of an early childhood multitiered system of positive behavior support: "The Pyramid Model." This article includes information from a variety of resources and classroom experiences to assist practitioners in the implementation of all aspects of the important and most often overlooked component of the model, the universal tier, to help teachers prevent future challenging behaviors in classrooms for children with or at risk for disabilities.
