Description
Summary:1. "Inclusion bodies," distinguishable from the Howell-Jolly bodies, were observed in the red blood cells of a patient with a severe refractory fatal anemia, who had been receiving erythrol tetranitrate over a period of one year. 2. "Bodies" with similar staining characteristics were reproduced in cats with large oral doses of erythrol tetranitrate and other nitrates. These were generally accompanied by a temporary fall in the red cell count, followed by recovery upon withdrawal of the drug.
