Crystal Structure of a Tris(dithiolene) Vanadium(IV) Complex Having Unprecedented D 3 h Symmetry
The crystal structure of a tris(dithiolene)vanadium(IV) complex, [V(S2C2H2)3] (1), was determined. This complex shows the first instance of the nearly perfect D3h geometry in tris(dithiolene) vanadium(IV) complexes. In comparison with 1, the crystal structures of (NEt4)2[V(bdt)3] (bdt2− = 1,2-benzen...

Summary: | The crystal structure of a tris(dithiolene)vanadium(IV) complex, [V(S2C2H2)3] (1), was determined. This complex shows the first instance of the nearly perfect D3h geometry in tris(dithiolene) vanadium(IV) complexes. In comparison with 1, the crystal structures of (NEt4)2[V(bdt)3] (bdt2− = 1,2-benzenedithiolate) (2) and (NEt4)2[V(tdt)3] (tdt2− = 3,4-toluenedithiolate) (3) having distorted Oh geometries were also determined by X-ray crystallography. |
