Summary:The new prenylflavonoid, isonymphaeol-B (1), together with three known compounds, nymphaeol-A (2), nymphaeol-B (3), and nymphaeol-C (4), were isolated from propolis collected in Okinawa, the southern-most prefecture of Japan. The structure of each compound was determined by spectral methods, including mass spectrometry and 2D NMR. Each compound had 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl radical-scavenging activity.
