Description
Summary:Adsorption behavior of metal ions onto Co (II) -imprinted microspheres, which were prepared by our newly developed “Surface Imprinting” technique, was examined. Results of an adsorption test of Zn (II) onto the Co (II) -imprinted microsphere examined by the conventional method allowed the effect of Co (II) -imprinting to be discussed in connection with the structure of Co (II) -complex. Furthermore, the new experimental system showed that the Co (II) -imprinted microsphere adsorbed the Co (II) more effectively than did the unimprinted ones. The Co (II) -imprinting effect occurred because the imprinted structure was held on the surface of the microsphere by “Surface Imprinting”; this imprinting effect was thus distinctly reflected in the adsorption behavior.
