Summary: | This study examined the relationship between multidimensional perfectionism and ego defense style among 130 college students. Cluster analysis results facilitated the identification of groups of adaptive perfectionists, maladaptive perfectionists, and non-perfectionists. The researchers found that identified maladaptive perfectionists used significantly more immature ego defense styles than adaptive perfectionists. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed. |
