Summary: | Librarians and publishers alike are struggling with a plethora of new options for pricing journals. To build a shared understanding of the advantages and concerns of various common pricing models, three categories of pricing models are evaluated in paper. Variations on traditional subscriptions, tiered pricing, and consortial complexities are defined and then considered from the viewpoint of both librarians and publishers. Some common themes in the discussions are identified and considered. |
