Excitation Functions of Some (n, p) and (n, α) Reactions from Threshold to 16 MeV

Summary:Precise cross sections were measured for the 90 Zr(n,α) 87m Sr, 94 Zr(n,α) 91 Sr, 92 Mo(n,α) 89m+g Zr, 45 Sc(n,α) 42 K, 51 V(n,α) 48 Sc, 59 Co(n,α) 56 Mn, 93 Nb(n,α) 90m Y, 92 Mo(n,p) 92m Nb, 96 Mo(n,p) 96 Nb, 97 Mo(n,p) 97m+g Nb, 90 Zr(n,p) 90m Y, 91 Zr(n,p) 91m Y, 92 Zr(n,p) 92 Y, and 60 Ni(n,p) 60m+g Co reactions in the 7- to 14.7-MeV neutron energy range. Excitation functions were completed with a number of new differential data. Spectrum-averaged (n,α) and (n,p) cross sections were measured for the 54 Fe(n,α) 51 Cr, 68 Zn(n,α) 65 Ni, 27 Al(n,α) 24 Na, 58 Ni(n,p) 58m+g Co, 64 Zn(n,p) 64 Cu, 59 Co(n,p) 59 Fe, 94 Zr(n,p) 94 Y, 56 Fe(n,p) 56 Mn, 46 Ti(n,p) 46m+g Sc, 47 Ti(n,p) 47 Sc, 48 Ti(n,p) 48 Sc, and 62 Ni(n,α) 59 Fe reactions in addition to those aforementioned using a thick target Be(d,n) neutron field at E d = 9.72 MeV. Results were compared with the ENDF/B-VI, IRDF90, JENDL-3, BROND, JEF-2, CENDL-2, and ADL-3 data files and the SINCROS-II system for testing the validation of differential data and the nuclear model calculations.
