Summary: | We appreciate Dr. Mosier's thoughtful comments and agree that it is indeed unfortunate that the information as to the precise dosage of I131 administered to the patient under discussion is not available. We do feel, however, that a dosage estimate of 25µc is not unreasonable. A study from the Michael Reese Hospital appearing in January 1957 reported using I131 tracer doses of 22 to 25µc in children under 10 years of age (one as young as 23½ months) to determine thyroidal I131 uptakes and PBI131 levels. |
