I have just completed reading the paper on myelomeningocele by Gross and associates,1 and I am honored that they quoted our opinions and work. I am also favorably impressed by their similar process for decision making.
I am concerned, however, about the data presented. The 33 children selected for nontreatment represent approximately 48% of the total of 69 patients. We have recently published a review of our own selection process wherein we chose 21% for delayed surgical treatment.2 |
