Summary: | John Cedric Griffiths (1912-1992) received the first Krumbein Medal in 1977 for his research. In 1996, The International Association for Mathematical Geology named their medal for excellence in teaching after him. Griffiths dedicated his career to mathematical geology, to his students, and to laying the basis for a rational search for the Earth's mineral riches. This article relates the experience of the author as a graduate student under Griffiths. |
