Summary:Flat fluorescent lamp (FFL) with high luminance uniformity for dual view LCD backlight application was developed and demonstrated. Two glass plates with channels formed by glass forming with one flat base glass plate were used to demonstrate an advanced FFL that emit light from the both surfaces of FFL. This bi‐directional FFL (BDFFL) will be useful as bi‐directional backlight for dual view LCD.
