Summary: | We used the Natural Chiral Dopant D‐Limonene in the recently developed driving scheme for reflective cholesteric active matrix displays. Since the scheme is based on the transition to the homeotropic state and a relaxation from homeotropic to planar, cholesteric materials with low viscosity and low elastic constants are extremely desirable. It turns out that the properties induced by D‐Limonene to the cholesteric mixture are very suitable for such a drive scheme. We show it can be used for 60Hz frame video ratio operation with better performance than a cholesteric without it. |
