Summary:This paper introduces a new discrete distribution that depends on two parameters. It can be described as a perturbed version of the standard geometric distribution by adding a ?random noise? following the Rademacher distribution. Depending on the values of its parameters, this new distribution can be unimodal or bimodal, as well as underdispersed or overdispersed. After reviewing its main properties, the problem of parameter estimation is examined and an application to a practical data set is given.
