Description
Summary:This paper is an extension of previous work by the writer concerning progressively censored sampling in the normal distribution [4] and in the Weibull distribution [6]. Here local maximum likelihood estimators and estimators which utilize the first order statistic are derived for the three-parameter log-normal distribution when samples are progressively censored. An illustrative example involving life test data is included. Various properties of the proposed estimators are investigated.
