Summary: | Odax cyanoallix, a new species of odacid, is described from specimens collected at the Three Kings Islands off northern New Zealand. The new species differs from O. pullus, the only other species in the genus, in having fewer lateral line scales and distinctive coloration. The new species differs from the five species of Neoodax, that genus most similar to Odax, in having a deeper body, longer pectoral fins, more vertebrae and distinctive coloration. |
