Summary:Studies in the genus Sloanea (Elaeocarpaceae) for the Flora of the Venezuelan Guayana have yielded changes in nomenclature and taxonomic concepts in addition to the following new taxa: Sloanea bolivarensis, S. cataniapensis, S. davidsei, S. longiaristata, S. merevariensis, S. parvifructa, S. sipapoana, S. steyermarkii subsp. autanae, S. steyermarkii subsp. jauaensis, S. subpsilocarpa, and S. wurdackii. Notes pertaining to the families Rapateaceae, Bombacaceae, and Theaceae are included.
