Summary: | A modification of the pyridinated silver impregnation technique of Rio-Hortega is offered, with step-by-step directions for its use. Following such a procedure, the likelihood of successful results employing a variety of ciliates is high. Although the preparations obtained are usually impermanent, the specimens are so clearly impregnated that photomicrographs can be taken to record the revealed structures of the infraciliature. Some cortical organelles are seen with greater clarity than is possible with other silver methods. |
