Summary: | One adult and one juvenile marmoset were infected with the Achiote strain of Plasmodium vivax. The animals were killed when the peripheral parasitemia was approximately 2%. Microscopic examination of the respective tissues showed a higher concentration of schizont-infected red blood cells in the liver, lung, and spleen of juveniles. |
