Summary:Syrrhopodon autotomaius Reese sp. nov. is described from Honduras, Dept. Olancho. Plants of the new species lack the uniseriate foliar gemmae characteristic of the majority of the Calymperaceae, but appear to utilize regular dehiscence of highly modified elongate slender leaf tips for asexual reproduction. Sporophytes are also produced.
