Injury to female strobili of shortleaf and loblolly pines by Nepytia semiclusaria (Lepidoptera: Geometridae)
Larvae of the geometrid Nepytia semiclusaria (Walker) fed to maturity on developing first-year female strobili of loblolly, Pinus taeda L., and shortleaf, P. echinata Mill., pines. This feeding usually caused the death of injured strobili.
