Summary:The two phantom midges Chaoborus flavicans and C. obscuripes show differences in morphology, diel migration pattern and life history tactics and have probably evolved in different types of lakes. Several selective factors differ between these two types of lakes: predation by visually searching fish, predation by larger benthic invertebrates, and food (particle) size and temporal availability. Experiments and field studies indicate that these selective factors are responsible for the observed differences between the species. /// Два вида некровососущих комаров Chaoborus flavicans и C. obscuripes имеют различия в строении, суточных миграциях и тактике жизненного цик-ла и поселяются в озерах разных типов. Эти два типя озер различаются по некоторым селективным факторам: хищничество рыб со зрительной ориента-цией, хищничество крупных бентосных беспозвоночных, размеры пищи (пи-щевых частиц), временная доступность пищи. Орыты и полевые наблюдения показали, что эти селективные факторы обусловили лтмеченные различия между видами.
