Description
Summary:The daily P/B of three size classes of Bosmina longirostris (O. F. Müller) are examined in relation to temperature and food conditions in six different environments. The effect of temperature on P/B is highly significant, being identical or nearly so in all of the lakes as shown by regression analysis. The intercepts of the regressions are positively correlated with the mean chlorophyll concentrations during the growing season of the six environments. This demonstrates that at the same temperature the daily P/B of Bosnima will be dependent upon the amount of food available.
