Summary: | Forty-two species of caddisflies distributed among nine families are reported from a segment of the Brazos River drainage in north-central Texas. Eight species are reported from the state for the first time and 33 species are reported as new drainage records. Families exhibiting the greatest diversity were the Hydroptilidae (16 sp.), Leptoceridae (9 sp.) and Hydropsychidae (7 sp.). Ochrotrichia capitana, Neotrichia n. sp., and Protoptila alexanderi represent range extensions northward into the North Central physiographic province of Texas. |
