Summary: | Oldenlandia umbellata L. [ = Hedyotis umbellata (L.) Lam. ] and O. wightii Hook. f. (Rubiaceae) are demonstrated to be two different species. O. umbellata L. is lectotypified. However, in the genus Hedyotis, the epithet 'umbellata' is illegitimate for this taxon, because it has already been used earlier for another species by Walter. A new name, H. brevicalyx is given for the species. A new combination, Hedyotis wightii, is also provided for Oldenlandia wightii Hook. f. |
