Summary:The correlation between figural and semantic abilities and success in a programmed unit in modular arithmetic was calculated on a sample of 228 prospective elementary teachers. Using seven criterion variables, a regression analysis was completed and significant interactions found between selected figural factors and methods of instruction as well as selected semantic factors and methods of instruction.
