18O/16O ratios of NBS-28 and some silicate reference samples
18O/16O ratios were determined for NBS-28 and four other silicate reference samples using BrF5 method. The analytical error is ±0.1‰. The results agree well with those by previous workers, except for NBS-28. The δ18O value of NBS-28 in the present work is +9.5‰ relative to SMOW, which is 0.5‰ lower...

Summary: | 18O/16O ratios were determined for NBS-28 and four other silicate reference samples using BrF5 method. The analytical error is ±0.1‰. The results agree well with those by previous workers, except for NBS-28. The δ18O value of NBS-28 in the present work is +9.5‰ relative to SMOW, which is 0.5‰ lower than the value reported by FRIEDMAN and GLEASON (1973). The discrepancy appears to have been caused mainly by the difference in the methods employed for the determination of SMOW scale. |
