Summary:Not infrequently industry reviews, as well as studies discussing important aspects of security analysis, are presented in a financial vacuum. As excellent exceptions to this failing, we could mention the paper by Manown Kisor, Jr. on "The Financial Aspects of Growth," published in the March, 1964 issue of the "Financial Analysts Journal" and the article by Alexander Barges on "Growth Rates and Debt Capacity" which appeared in this year's January-February Journal. Pierre Bretey's contribution to the present issue has the merits of stressing also the financial background of a major industry.
