Summary:A research project sponsored by the Financial Analysts Federation has examined the desirability and possible content of a formal system of forecast disclosure. The project consisted of five separate studies, including a search of the published literature, an examination of corporate forecasts published in the Wall Street Journal, an investigation of the accuracy of professional analysts' forecasts, a questionnaire survey of the opinions of FAF members, and a follow-up personal interview survey to probe the results of the questionnaire. This article summarizes the findings.
