Summary:A number of modern approaches to the modeling of multiphase flows in porous media are discussed. Some mathematical difficulties arising when modeling a seepage process numerically under near-critical thermodynamic conditions are analyzed. The usage of enthalpy instead of temperature as an independent variable is substantiated in the case of studying the seepage flows numerically under near-critical conditions.
