Deposition of protective coatings by combined SHS/argon-arc surfacing
A new method for combined SHS/argon-arc deposition of protective coatings 2–10 mm thick (and more) onto Ti alloys has been suggested and tested on a pilot-scale level using specially designed electrode materials based on reactive SHS-type mixtures. The service parameters of thus deposited TiB-TiC-Ti...

Summary: | A new method for combined SHS/argon-arc deposition of protective coatings 2–10 mm thick (and more) onto Ti alloys has been suggested and tested on a pilot-scale level using specially designed electrode materials based on reactive SHS-type mixtures. The service parameters of thus deposited TiB-TiC-Ti coatings were found to exceed those of existing prototype materials. The method can be readily recommended for practical implementation. |
