Contact pressure in hip endoprostethic swivel joints

A finite element model of an endoprosthetic joint is developed; the influence of the clearance, the ball diameter, and the load on the maximum contact stresses in the tribocouple is studied; the effect of the contact stresses on the wear of the joint components is studied; practical recommendations...

Description
Summary:A finite element model of an endoprosthetic joint is developed; the influence of the clearance, the ball diameter, and the load on the maximum contact stresses in the tribocouple is studied; the effect of the contact stresses on the wear of the joint components is studied; practical recommendations are advanced for selecting the dimension of joint parts in order to fabricate them to fit particular patients.
