Summary: | The findings of the study are presented that disclose how the radiation modification influences the wear resistance of polyvinylenfluoride during friction on metal in oil. It is established that the friction regularities in this case are much different from the friction in water and air. While the wear rate of polyvinylenfluoride depends on the absorbed radiation dose during tests in the air and extreme tests under dry friction, followed by the abrupt acceleration of the irradiated polymer-contacting layer; during friction in oil, the wear rate reduction is observed throughout the range of doses up to 500 kGy. |
