Summary: | The development of models that accurately predict the performance of a paper machine is valuable to operators trying to optimize paper production and to others wishing to obtain a better understanding of the process. In this study, a dynamic modular paper machine simulator package was developed using Matlab® with Simulink®. Structuring the simulator as a set of modular blocks means that the variety of configurations that can be found on today’s paper machines can be modeled by assembling the blocks in different ways. The use of a dynamic model allows the user to see the effects of system changes as they occur, in addition to the steady-state results. |
