Summary: | The relationship between job characteristics and innovative work behaviour is reviewed in this study. The research identified task significance, task autonomy, task feedback, job complexity, and job resources as major antecedents of innovative work behaviour. The study gives an in-depth look at these job characteristics and their link to innovative work behaviour. The results show that innovative work behaviour is positively correlated with task significance, task autonomy, and task feedback, however the correlation between job complexity and innovative work behaviour is equivocal. Job resources, on the other hand, regularly have a beneficial impact on innovative work behaviour. These results have important implications for businesses looking to boost employee creativity. The article continues by emphasising the need of more research into the underlying mechanisms and moderating factors that may influence these connections.
