Summary: | AC Redbond is a high-yielding, early-maturing, small red dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar with moderate resistance to white mold. It was developed from a series of crosses at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Centre, Lethbridge, with cooperation from the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Centre Morden. AC Redbond, having an upright growth habit with moderate resistance to white mold, is particularly well adapted to the western Canadian prairies using the narrow-row production system, maturing on average 3 d before NW 63, with 10% higher seed yield.
