Cortinarius mikedavisii sp. nov. from northern California
A new Cortinarius (subg. Phlegmacium) species is described from northern California. Cortinarius mikedavisii is a brightly colored bulbopodium in sect. Laeticolores. Phylogenetically it belongs in the /cupreorufus clade.
