Description
Summary:In the present study, 75 diverse genotypes of linseed were grouped in 16 clusters by Tocher’s method where cluster II was largest with 38 genotypes followed by cluster IV with 17 genotypes, cluster XI with 5 genotypes. The maximum intra-cluster distance was obtained for cluster IV (14.34) followed by cluster II (13.20). The highest inter-cluster D value was observed between cluster I and XI (40.62) followed by cluster V and XI (38.13). Cluster X showed highest value for number of primary branches and number of secondary branches per plant. Among the ten traits, number of capsules/plant contributed maximum towards genetic divergence. The grouping of genotypes in different clusters was not related to their geographic origin and genotypes from different geographic locations were grouped into one cluster while genotypes of the same geographic origin showed geneticdiversity.
