Summary: | The Host range study of powdery mildew disease of sunflower experiment was undertaken in glass house conditions during Rabi 2017-18 and 2018-19 at MARS, Raichur. The powdery mildew conidia were inoculated on 10 different hosts viz, Green gram, Black gram, Pea, Horse gram, French bean, Cluster bean, Mothbean, Cowpea, Tomato and Chilli. Among 10 cultivated crops the pathogen found to infecting on 4 different hosts such as Greengram, Blackgram, Cluster bean and French bean. Hence these 4 hosts can be considered as collateral hosts. In absence of sunflower, pathogen can survive in these four hosts and can act as primary source of inoculum whenever the crop is grown. |
